CLARE PRENTON
Clare is highly experienced in programming, project design, delivery and facilitation with work in theatre participation and outreach with with people of all ages to create high quality theatre work.
She is currently working on a new play The Mens Shed - with the Peebles and District Mens Shed, funded by mental health and wellbeing charity Inspiring Life, to create a once act play inspired by the 110 men and women at this new community facility. The play will be performed as part of Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2020.
Past projects include Motherhood Special - a 9 week theatre/film writing project with verbatim monologues written with young mothers in Edinburgh for Stellar Quines Theatre Company. For Eastgate Theatre, Peebles and Creative Peebles Festival 2019, Clare created a reminiscence project called 'The Memory Jar'. Working with older residents, across three residential settings, over 12 weeks, workshops evolved into 21 dramatic scenes and monologues written by Clare and residents and inspired by their stories, performed by professional actors. Clare wrote Star-crossed (a version of Romeo and Juliet) for Stepping Stones Theatre, Perth (for adults with learning disabilities, autism and Down's Syndrome) and Murder in Birnam - a film/theatre/installation project filmed in Birnam Wood, for the opening of Perth Concert Hall in 2005.
